A-Level Student
My tutor was an excellent teacher that helped me gain real grip of the complicated areas in my subjects like economics. I'd highly recommend for anyone looking to consistently perform at their best.
By October of Year 12, A-Level Maths can look nothing like the GCSE Maths your child earned an 8 in last summer. Our Baldock A-Level tutors close that GCSE-to-A-Level gap before end-of-Year-12 mocks set the predicted grade for the year ahead.

A BALDOCK A-LEVEL TURNAROUND
In a first session with a Baldock Year 12, we usually find the same picture. The student arrived with strong GCSEs and is now sitting at a lower mark in their A-Level subject than expected. Not because the work is too hard, because A-Level rewards a different kind of thinking GCSE never asked for. A Baldock A-Level tutor names that gap, then rebuilds the method week by week.
"The Degree Gap helped my child go from Cs to As. They have a great selection of tutors who not only assist with the curriculum but also helped with university choices and applications."

Get in touch and we'll connect you with the right A-Level tutor for your child. We'll ask a few questions about their subjects, year group, and exam board — and introduce you to a tutor who fits.
Year 12 is the most common starting point for Baldock families, especially where A-Level Maths is the worry. Get the GCSE-to-A-Level jump nailed before end-of-Year-12 mocks, and predicted grades arrive higher going into Year 13. Year 13 January mocks are the cut-off for most UCAS predicted grades, so starting after Christmas of Year 13 is too late for most universities.
Yes. When we match, exam board is part of the criteria. AQA Maths and Edexcel Maths are different exams, and the same is true for Chemistry across OCR and AQA. We match A-Level tutors who have actually taught your child's spec, not just the broad subject.
Yes. EPQ structure and the artefact-or-essay choice are where most of the work sits. The final write-up stays your child's own, but tutoring shapes how it is structured and where the marks land. The EPQ counts towards UCAS, and a good tutor knows how examiners actually read it.
Yes. Most Cambridge-corridor degree apprenticeships open to Baldock students screen on predicted grades and the strength of the application essay. A-Level tutoring lifts predicted grades into the AAB band most schemes ask for, and tutors help shape the application essay around the scheme's selection criteria.
