The Degree Gap helped my child go from Cs to As. They have a great selection of tutors who not only assist with the curriculum but also helped with university choices and applications.
Year 13 January mocks decide the predicted grade UCAS sees. Our Cambridge A-Level tutors lift students out of borderline territory into the offer band Cambridge, Oxford and the rest of the Russell Group actually ask for.

FROM JANUARY MOCK TO UCAS OFFER
Top A-Level results aren't accidents. They sit on top of a method shift that GCSE rarely forced, and the pace at most Cambridge sixth forms assumes students will pick that shift up on their own. For a Year 12 hitting a lower mark in an end-of-year mock than expected, the gap is rarely effort. It's the analytical precision A-Level rewards across the longer questions, which doesn't always get explicitly taught.

Parent of A-Level Student
My son gained almost two grades higher than his year 13 mock paper. His tutor was excellent.
Parent
The Degree Gap has exceeded all my expectations. They have gone above and beyond to pair both my sons with the appropriate tutors, all of whom have been exceptional. Both my sons exceeded their expected grades in their GCSEs and A Levels and got into their first choice universities. I cannot recommend them highly enough.
Parent of A-Level Student
The A level tutoring made such a difference to my son, who had left studying until the final hour, managing to turn E and U grades into 3 C grades. Amazing.
A-Level Student
My tutor is a very intuitive and superb teacher. She listened to my specific concerns and bolstered my confidence in answering questions. She taught me how to think critically and helped me through this highly demanding course. I will happily recommend without a second thought.

My son has been receiving tutor lessons in A Level History and A Level Sociology since the beginning of this year. The tutor has been such a tremendous support, teaching him content as well as exam technique.

I wish I had found The Degree Gap when I was sitting my school exams. They helped with my dissertation work and without their help I am not sure I would have graduated so successfully and landed a successful job.

Cannot recommend The Degree Gap highly enough. Quick and helpful responses. I was immediately matched with a very competent tutor who was a massive help in helping me exceed my target grade and achieve a first class degree at university.

Yes, and it's a meaningful share of our Cambridge A-Level work. Tutors cover interview preparation for both Oxbridge and Medicine, UCAT and BMAT coaching, plus the predicted-grade work those offers turn on. Most students start in late Year 12 or early Year 13, before the UCAS submission window closes.
Nothing's gone wrong, the subject has changed. A-Level Maths uses different methods, expects independent practice in volume, and rewards the multi-step problems GCSE rarely touches. A tutor traces which pure, mechanics or statistics method is causing the leak, then drills it weekly. Most students are back on track by the end of Year 12 mocks.
Yes, and matching on specification is one of the first things we check. AQA Biology and OCR Biology aren't the same paper. Edexcel and Edexcel International further diverge. We match on the specification the sixth form is teaching, not just the subject name.
From £37 an hour. The rate depends on the tutor, their subject, and how senior they are (a recent Cambridge graduate teaching their old subject sits near the entry rate; a qualified examiner or senior academic sits higher). We agree it before any session is booked.
